I hate AT&T U-Verse

I just want to come out and say it: I FUCKING HATE AT&T U-VERSE.

I thought this service would be great. And although things have run smoothly lately, the system overall just sucks. Crappy channel line-up, getting around the guide is sluggish and frustrating, and the latency between the TV in my room and the TV in Tracy’s room means the sound in one room is either ahead or behind the other, thus making an echo as we usually watch the same programs at night.

Worse, assuming I ever intend to upgrade to HD, I keep reading about how bad the HD quality is in comparison to other carriers. I understand the technology is new, but goddamn can we please get the fucking NHL Center Ice package? If that was added, I would finally just be ok and live with it. I never imagined that almost all major sports besides basketball would not have their packages be available. And if they were, I figured I could at least get the Fox Sports package with FSNY to watch Devils games, but alas, no. FSNY (that would be Fox Sports NEW YORK, THE BIGGEST FUCKING CITY IN THE COUNTRY which even requires an FSNY 2 because there are so many sports teams) is not on the list, yet TVG (interactive betting on horse racing) is.

I regret not having done more research and not going with a satellite provider. I should have known better than to go with AT&T. DO NOT GET THIS SERVICE – IT IS TOO NEW AND A DISAPPOINTMENT TO ANYONE COMING FROM CABLE.

  1. AT&T Abuse says:

There is a woman in the Midwest Repair Center that screws up over every U-verse call. Her name is K Kouvelis, goes by K on the phone. She was supposed to be fired for alcohol and they kept her because she is great at verbally abusing employees that want to help others. Yet another devious plan at AT&T to keep those that want to help out. The poor repair person that she physically attacked probably got fired for wanting to help. Ask for Kay when you call in, she makes great house calls for coke!

  2. AT&T Abuse says:

Its all very true! Midwest repair number 888-611-4466, although calls are routed to different locations, 1. ask if you’ve reached the illinois/chicago area if not get a transfer. Her real name is Charlotte, but they’ve allowed her to use the name K because she tried to flee the state owing child support for two kids. Her ex-husband refused her to move because she has visitation and doesnt want her stealing the kids. Shes cut all her hair off like Britney Spears. Wild women with a Jerry Springer Spunk! She’ll suck you off like she does at ATT all day!

It sounds like you guys have nothing better to do than watch hockey, along with the 4 other people on *Earth* who have nothing better to do than watch the ice melt between sex sessions with their respective sisters. I seriously doubt that either of you could figure out how to dial a phone, let alone remember someone’s name long enough to set the Meth down and blog it (although I do know we have a couple people in our RealTime Results call-center who are at least half as retarded as you guys… which is very, very retarded). I sincerely hope you leave our service and go with DISH (or DirectTV… same thing…), so I can have the satisfaction of knowing that your sister(s) are taking their licks every time it rains and you’re forced to miss some gay hockey game.

Ok. That doesn’t change the fact that U-verse blows.

AT&Ts pricing just illustrates what crooks they are. All of their plans are BAD VALUE TO THE CONSUMER. When I called to express concern, the sales rep laughed at me and told me I was crazy if I thought what I thought. He even went so far as to say that not one person has called in with the same concern and I’m the first and only person who feels that way. I told him thank you, hung up, called the Better Business Bureau, reported AT&T and then cancelled my account. I couldn’t be happier being back at Verizon.

I have to agree. I’ve had a recurring problem of the internet freezing as well as the TV. You call them up and they tell you to wait while they check….then as you’re waiting, things become unfrozen and then they come back and say they don’t see anything wrong. So last night, I unplugged the gateway as they instructed and thought everything will be fine at least for another week. Then, it screws up again…same thing…and around the same time….in the middle of the Lakers vs. Nuggets Game 5! I freaked and gave them an earful about how awful it has been trying to watch a f-ing program that stalls and becomes pixilized. Anyhow, I convinced them that they had better send a technician this weekend, since I’m not going to take time off of work to wait for some technician to fix it…TO BE CONTINUED….

Not only does AllTards&Turds suck donkeydongs, the fanboyz at their forums who jump to their defense whenever anyone who has a problem with the service they receive do too.

AT&T operators and service reps are the worst!

If you feel the same way drop in on the AT&T lovers forum and get it off your chest:

I really have to say that AT&T has really provided great service for about a year or so now in the area I’m in near Houston. The price is a little high, but we have an incredibly fast connection to manage 30+ websites along with doing other things like playing games or streaming video where zero latency and high bandwidth is extremely helpful.

TV has worked well, they have made improvements to the DVR (notably Total Home DVR) and the HD is pretty nice looking too. I also have to say that the Microsoft interface is snappy and has a lot of features that blow the cable DVR receiver I have while on the road away. There are always a few things that they could improve and I certainly won’t defend them on everything (the iPhone needs a better network and to be less locked down), but both my wife and I are happy with U-verse at the moment.

I’m still upset that they do not have the NHL package, but I am able to get NHL Gamecenter through NHL.com and stream near-HD video from there. My only complaint is that I can’t choose the Devils feed all the time on that. Still, this is actually a bit more helpful as I live in one very small East Texas town that doesn’t have Center Ice either during the week, so I always have it since I always have a computer. So it works out in the end.

  11. I can’t STAND AT&T Uverse! MLB’s rules say that if a ballgame isn’t a sellout in the home city, it gets blacked out on AT&T! I’m a Cubs fan, and I thought I had a glimmer of hope with gettin’ those games from ChicagoLand Television on AT&T Uverse. To my dismay, I found that the game was blacked out in my area of Chicagoland! I had it MADE with Comcast! No blackouts, free movies on demand, and all my favorite channels. Don’t even get me STARTED on the Urge Music Channels. Too much song repetition, too many album cuts, and the clincher: On the CMT radio channel, no current songs at all, and this dates back to Oct. 22nd of last year. I’m much happier with Comcaat digital cable, and I want everybody to know it! God bless!
